Phase 2 of the HCG Diet
This is where it gets a little confusing. When you are searching and finding information, or reading hCG diet forums about the hCG diet or phase 2 of the hCG Diet based on Dr. Simones’, Pounds and Inches, and Kevin Trudeau’s, The Weight Loss Cure, are different parts of the same hCG diet.
As a matter of fact, it was only after Kevin Trudeau’s The Weight Loss Cure came out and people on the internet start talking, exchanging ideas, successes and stories, and seeking help and more information about the hCG diet, that it became part of the lexicon to refer to the various parts of the diet as phases and stages as rounds.

Dr. Simeons hCG Diet Phase 2
The hCG Diet Phase 2 lasts for 26 days or 40 days. The day difference depends on how much weight you have to lose and how long you prefer to diet.
While you are on the diet phase of the hCG diet, you will continue taking your oral hCG for a 26 or 40 day time period.
However, the last 3 days, (day 23 or day 37 respectively) you will stop taking hCG, but continue to eat the hCG diet foods of 500 calories.
This gives the hCG time to leave your system before you begin either your hCG diet hiatus, or you go on to maintaining your weight loss.
A word about the hCG allowed foods
As the diet has evolved and become popular, others have added other foods to this list or increased the caloric intake. Dr. Simeons’ hCG diet food list is very specific, very limited, and very low in calories, 500 per day.
The hCG allowed food is, NO fat, VERY low carb and HIGH protein. This allows for optimal fat loss from the body in the shortest amount of time.
Maintaining a 500-calorie diet is a rigorous process. You should know the art of eating healthy food during your weight loss journey.
Dr. Simeons not only discovered the process but also designed a special menu for the benefit of the users. This article mainly highlights the food recommended by him for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Breakfast
During breakfast, ensure to take something like morning coffee/ Remember that sugar is not permitted. However, you can use sweetener such as sweet-n-low, stevia and just to mention a few.
In case you are using sweet-n-low, ensure not to apply above one package. This is because it may come with higher sugar content.
If you are taking coffee, ensure to mix with one tbsp of milk. This can be done in every 24 hours.
Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar.
Only one tablespoonful of milk allowed in 24 hours.
Saccharin or stevia may be used
Lunch
For your lunch time, ensure to consume about 100 grams of protein diet each day. Ensure to always scale using ounces. This can be a value of about 3.4, but can vary with respect to items.
In case you are weighing your food, ensure that it is unfrozen or raw. This will help you to get accurate weight during the measuring process.
You can take protein foods such as lobster, fish, crab, veal, shrimp, chicken or lean meat. In case you are considering ground beef, ensure it is about 93/7 or closer.
This simply means that the food is 97 percent lean and contain 7 percent fat. When the fat is lesser, it simply means that you will experience better results.
In case you are selecting fish, ensure to be careful. This is because some fishes come with high fat content. This can be found in the likes of catfish, salmon, eel, and tuna. To be factual, Tilapia is usually known as a great choice. You can also find it in any market.
Ensure that all your meat is stripped off any fat.
You can also take one vegetable for lunch. This can be found from your food list. This can be cabbages, cucumbers, asparagus, tomatoes, spinach or lettuce.
Most types of greens and lettuce are allowed. One Melba toast or bread stick can go with every lunch. This can be found in any food store, but ensure to check the box for any extra seasonings or cheese.
The plain options are always better. You can as well take fruits carrying about 1/2 grape fruit, whole apple, and a handful of strawberries
100 grams or 3.5 ounces of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp.
All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw.
It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat.
Removing chicken breast from the bird is mandatory.
Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed.
Strictly avoid dried or pickled fish.
One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following:
spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage.
One breadstick (grissino) or one Melba toast.
An apple or a handful of strawberries or one-half grapefruit.
Dinner
The dinner should be the same as the lunch. One veggie, 100 grams of protein, Melba toast and fruit can work well. Remember that cooking oils are not allowed.
Dinner is the same choices as lunch. For Taste: You can use juice of one lemon For Seasoning: Salt, garlic, sweet basil, parsley, thyme,majoram,pepper, vinegar,mustard powder Strictly avoid oil, dressing or butter. At least drink 2 litres of fluids per day. Instead of having breadstick and fruits in lunch or dinner you can have them between meals Note: Foods not listed here are forbidden.
